ADVENTURE HOLIDAYS OF A LIFETIME FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH AN ILLNESS OR DISABILITY Kevin Humphreys Special Page In memory of Kevin Humphreys who travelled from Scotland aged 13
At Katie's ski tracks we can honestly say it was a privilege to have been given the chance to spend time in Kevin's company and to become his friend. Kevin gave so much joy, fun and laughter to the group and this will stay with us forever. WE will never forget his face when he was presented with his medal and certificate. Kevin sadly died on Christmas Day 2001. All our thoughts are with him at this time as they are with his parents, family and friends. At such a tender age he has become our guide, our inspiration to continue to ensure children and young people like Kevin, have this once in a lifetime opportunity and to accomplish something we all take for granted. Kevin now takes all our dreams forward into the future. ********** "I want to thank everyone that has sent us a letter that helped the year our son went on the trip. The bit you all commented on was trying to wake Kevin up, yes that was Kevin's downfall he liked his sleep. Kevin still went on about his holiday the month before he died, you give so much to the children, we used to think what Kevin had was bad, but when you see some of the kids on video our hearts go out to you. I am just glad Kevin had the chance to experience it. Thank you for saying the things you did and dedicating the year 2002 in his memory that is fantastic. Kevin would have liked that, as I said, he loved his holiday away with you all." Carol Humphreys (mum) ********** Just to let you know that I am Kevin's Aunty and it was a really nice gesture making a special page for Kevin. He is really missed but little things like you did make a lot of difference to the way we feel. We are all lucky to have been such a big part of Kevin's life and as you have said we hear a lot from all different people saying what a great kid he was and that you all feel more enriched to have known him. Once again thanks for putting a tribute to Kevin on your pages. Love Audrey. Keep up the good work as it really does give sick kids the chance to really enjoy life to the full. |
